Everything visible is ruled by invisible forces regardless of the way you understand these - as micro elements that create everything existing or macro forces that influence changes on the biggest possible level or you just understand the rules of the spiritual world and the hidden nature of the matter.
There is literally nothing visible that is not driven by something well hidden from normal human perception. Yes, human. Because other creatures have these senses pretty much unlocked. This is actually one of the most interesting paradoxes (among a lot of others) of human nature - we are highly creative creatures with the most advances collection of disabilities. <3 We are supposed to paint with our eyes closed, compose almost completely deaf and sing with our squeaky voice. Isn't that lovely? We are nature's first-born child toward whom their parents have been highly demanding and almost cruel. And on the other hand - we have been given more than we can ever return.
There are two types of human creativity: 1. simple doing with or without expected results, 2. knowing what you are actually doing while doing it (in most cases this leads directly to predicted results). To visualize it - imagine that you have a color book in front of you - in the first type you don't really know what the picture shows and you can only hope that the way you add colors makes sense in the end. On the other hand - the second type means that you understand the context of the image and you can carefully pick colors and put them meaningfully. The context of the black-and-white image is an invisible background of it. That particular image would never even exist if it hadn't come from the invisible idea. So - knowing this invisible information makes the dramatic difference in the way you act.
We are witnessing an interesting parallel with the story above in our profession. As designers, we are able to see something that doesn't exist yet, the invisible and we manage to put it together into some form, to materialize it and put it into function. We paint the color book kind of guessing what the image is like in the end. And this ability empower us to be of help to others and to contribute different areas of life by foreseeing the unseen.
“Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forces change yet the essence remain the same.“ Rumi
This is why it is important for us to constantly sharpen our inner sight even more than the physical one, because it is the true source of understanding.
